The entire family will enjoy the natural beauty and recreational possibilities that Cayuga County offers. With eight lakes, three State Parks, and the Erie Canal, vacations can be as relaxing or active as you like. Even when the snow falls, there is plenty to do - cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, sledding and skating are all popular activities during the winter months.

Parks & Trails -

Cayuga County's three State Parks - Fair Haven Beach State Park, Fillmore Glen State Park and Long Point State Park - are among the finest parks in the region. In addition, the Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge offers 7,000 acres of habitat for over 300 species of birds and wildlife. Emerson Park, near Auburn, offers swimming, boating, picnic facilities, playgrounds and disk golf.

Hikers, bicyclists, and horseback riders enjoy the Cayuga County Erie Canal Recreational Trail. Those that prefer to see the beauty of the area from their cars will want to drive the Cayuga Lake Scenic Byway and the Seaway Trail.

Golf -

Cayuga County is a golfer's paradise with ten public golf courses available from April - October. Swing your cares away at one of Cayuga County's ten public golf courses. All of the courses are beautiful and offer challenges for any level of player. For those that like a shorter game, five miniature golf courses are also available, as well as disc golf at Emerson Park.

Fishing Charters, Marinas & More-

Fishing and hunting are world class in the Finger Lakes Region
and available all year round.

Brown and Rainbow Trout can be found along the Owasco Inlet as well as Cayuga Lake. Both Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass are abundant in Owasco Lake. The places to catch Northern Pike are Cross Lake and Skaneateles Lake.

Anglers come from around the world to fish Lake Ontario known for its abundance of Chinook Salmon, Brown Trout and Steelhead. Historically, some of the biggest and best spring Brown Trout fishing can be found along the Village of
Fair Haven
’s Lake Ontario Shoreline.

I have been fishing since I was a little girl and with my husband of 35 years. We fish in the Colorado Rocky Mountains...but we don't grow them this big. This was an experience I will never forget. - Elaine Guzzo, Thorton, CO
