Ready to celebrate the Fourth of July in a big way in this year? Fireworks displays, live music, parades, carnivals, historical readings and other patriotic celebrations are lined up all across the county! Here’s your rundown on the biggest and best family friendly events.

Located in northern Cayuga County is the village of Fair Haven. Community members of this village work together to bring residents and visitors a nostalgic, jammed pack weekend of events. Family friendly activities, parades, carnival rides and delicious food are in store!  Festivities start on Thursday, July 7th and do not end utill Sunday, July 7!

The celebrations are kicked off on Thursday the 4th with a chicken BBQ from the Fire Department, carnival rides, the famous mile long parade and live music. The carnival is set up all weekend long with rides, games, clowns and all the food favorites you’d expect to find at such an event. Don’t forget to check out the craft fair at the Village Park.  Enjoy all this fun again on Friday, and at 9:30 pm head out to the bay for the Electric Light-Up Boat Parade.


Saturday begins with the 5K Walk/Run to benefit Hospice of the Finger Lakes, the Classic Car Cruise-In, live music, Wall of Fire and SOFA’s firework spectacular! It’s a day not to be missed! 

Slow it down on Sunday and visit the craft fair!  While you’re in the area please make sure to check out the local businesses and have a nice meal at one of the many restaurants. 

Enjoy five nights of cover-free live music from some of CNY’s biggest acts on our 103 acres of waterfront! Winery Bistro, Bar, and Tasting Room are open all week from noon.

Join in the celebration at Cayuga County’s Annual Independence Day celebration at Emerson Park on Wednesday, July 3rd.
Sponsored by the Emerson Foundation, the Syracuse Symphoria will perform lakeside at the Pavilion followed by the fireworks display at 9:45pm, weather permitting. Please note that there will be a $5 parking fee for this event.

The town of Owasco will hold it’s Annual July 4th Chicken BBQ and Parade on Thursday, July 4th! BBQ starts serving at 10:30am inside the truck bay of the station. Dinner include a 1/2 Chicken, Baked Beans, Salt Potatoes, Roll and a Cookie.

Parade will start at 1:00pm! Starting at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and Letchworth Street.

Observe the holiday at the annual reading of the Declaration of Independence. The reading starts at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 4, at Ledyard Town Hall, 1099 Poplar Ridge Road, Ledyard. Refreshments and light music provided.
Note: reading will take place rain or shine.
